Entropy Just Lost
If a note is just a message to your future self, what does that make a public note? A message to the future world? Maybe. My notes probably aren’t very interesting. They’re not research notes, they’re not academic notes, they’re just notes about what I felt like learning or writing about at the time.
This website is built around posts and notes. What is the difference, you may ask? I guess a post is like more like a blog, maybe in a loosely defined sense and a note is just something I’ve written. Some notes are like essays, some are random, some notes are literally notes about something I’m learning or doing. Notes are usually half-finished, and are subject to change (and frequently do), and thus have a created and modified date. Posts are fixed in time, generally not edited after posting, and have a publish date. Everything is tagged according to topic. Everything is fully searchable. Links between the notes are displayed on a d3-force graph.
Ultimately this is just an experimental place for my writing, and a way to do that in public that feels comfortable to me. I make no promises on how often I’ll post or not, or what I’m going to write about. And what does “Entropy Just Lost” mean? It means just whatever you want it to mean, but in a nonsensical tongue-in-cheek way.
